Can't load image #336
Given this link: https://i.redd.it/var6f5nip3x81.png
If I click on that link, I can load it from reddit. I can't load it from teddit instances. e.g. https://teddit.net/pics/w:null_var6f5nip3x81.png gives
Cannot GET /pics/w:null_var6f5nip3x81.png.
Weird, visiting the actual post loads the image https://teddit.net/r/196/comments/ugvfyl/tf2_rule/ but when you try to just load the image itself I also get same error as above. Wonder if its related to how reddit handles i.redd.it links opening comments vs just the image in a new tab.
I use Teddit in Docker and recently updated to the latest image and this picture loads fine for me in Teddit using the direct link to the image or clicking on the image from the original reddit post. Make sure you update Teddit in case it's a bug that's already been fixed.
@MallocVoidstar could you please confirm that this issue still occurs or close this if not?
Yes, it still occurs.
If you load the image through the page such as
https://teddit.net/r/196/comments/ugvfyl/tf2_rule/ then that instance will start working to load the image, at least for a while. However, if all you have is the image URL - I originally had just the image URL, not the page URL - teddit instances cannot load the image.
If you go find random teddit instances and try to load
/pics/w:null_var6f5nip3x81.png through them, none of them will work unless someone loaded its thread recently. However, the
i.redd.it URL works fine.
