Subreddits never load #259

The front page loads and but no subreddit ever loads. I've tested several different subreddits, and none ever loaded tonight. Some individual posts linked from the front page loaded (after a conspicuous passage of time or several reload attempts), but others never did.

I am in the US (which has been relevant for another issue I submitted in the past) and using Firefox.

Thank you for your work!

Of course a few test tabs did just start to load immediately after hitting submit on that report. Most are still spinning. It does still look like individual posts succeed more frequently than subreddits.

Have you experienced this only on teddit.net, or also on other instances?

Couple days ago I noticed that in teddit.net OAuth gives only HTTP 401 when making requests to Reddit. Now when I switched teddit.net to not use OAuth, I get responses from Reddit but they are really slow (e.g. subreddit might take 30 seconds to load).

I don't know if something has changed on Reddit API that needs to be updated on teddit, or if this is a some kind of rate limiting / throttle put on teddit.net.

I think this is caused or at least heavily compunded by #248. When this happens for me, it's usually blocking on some picture or media and once it gets through that, it loads properly again.

I apologize for being unable to experimentally address your questions because performance has been fine since the morning after I raised the issue. It was a real issue, but it has been better. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
