When I attempt to open a gemini link from fedilab, it switches to Ariene correctly and I see the url in the url bar. Before anything loads, it takes me to the homepage instead of loading the URL I requested.
Ariene v2.3.0
Pixel 5, android v11
Let me know if I can provide any other help.

I suspect the issue is when Ariane is already running. A cold start seems to work more reliably.

I don't think that's the issue. I've just opened Ariane. Went to the program switcher. Swiped up on Ariane to force close it. From there, I clicked a link which opened and exhibited the same behavior as mentioend before.

Hmm. Maybe mistaken. I tried again bc i think fediverse has a copy of the app open also? Not sure how those intermediate views work on android. Here's a screen recording.

That's a good clue actually, it may be that Ariane is launched within the same task as Fediverse. I'll investigate the various Activity launch modes: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/activity-element#lmode
So I got the app setup on android studio and was unable to reproduce it by opening a link from chrome. Frustrating! but it does lend credence to the fact that this may be interplay with the in-app version from Fediverse. :D

I didn't get the part about Fediverse but just wanted to say that I face this issue very often. In usually opening links from Weechat-Android and have nothing Fediverse related on my device.
I'm presently on 2.4.0 on a Redmi Note 7 Pro running Android 11. Please let me know if there's any more information I can provide to help fix this.

This whole area has been rewritten for Ariane 3 - it'll be fixed when that's ready: https://codeberg.org/oppenlab/Ariane3
