Timer for exercise #84

Sometimes you want to do an exercise for a certain amount of time. It would be great, if GymRoutines could support this with a count-down timer, e.g.

  • You set up an exercise and add the time you want to do it.
  • When you start that exercise, you press start. A count-down timer starts and shows you the remaining time.
  • After that timer has expired, a sound/vibration alerts you.

This could also be used for a rest timer (#83)?

What do you think? Would that be possible?

I think it would make more sense to have a built in stopwatch. That way it's more versatile and intuitive.

Thanks for considering it. But you could have both: A stopwatch with one or more warning signal after a set time as a reminder. IMHO it does not really matter if the time counts up or down!

I agree with the suggestions here. Though, one should also be able to specify some sort of delay to give the user some time (like a second or two, this should be configurable) to get into the correct position.

If you need a time based workout app, Workout Time! is pretty good. I don't currently have plans to implement that sort of functionality, but that might change in the future.
