XML and HTML parsers: preserve whitespace #32

The XML and the HTML parser currently throw away sequences of whitespace inside nodes. This is problematic, since elements containing preformatted text (the HTML "pre" element for example) cannot be displayed correctly.

TODO:

  • The XML parser shall get an option to set the behavior regarding whitespace and line break preservation.
  • The HTML parser should preserve whitespaces and line breaks, since the document may have CSS rules that make more elements behave like the "pre" element. Such elements must be displayed correctly.

The tests for those two parsers have to be modified so that they also test for preserving whitespace.
