Lock Screen: Fails to finish a workout because of "add comment button" #200

Hello,

first of all: Thanks for version 9.0. This version is dope and brings really useful features (especially the manual pausing)!!

When a workout is finished, I click the upper right button. Most of the time the screen is still in the lock mode and tries to unlock when I end the workout.

My hands are really sweaty after a workout (:D), so my phone sometimes takes 10-20 seconds to recognize my finger detection or does not recognize it at all. Most of the time I just type in my code because it is faster.

The problem: The run does not finish if I did not unlock the phone. First I have to unlock it and skip the "add comment" button in order to save the run. Because of the sweaty fingers it sometimes happen that I unlock the phone by the finger, but the display is bugging of the wet surface, opens the multitask panel and closes all apps accidentially. Unfortunately the workout is then lost in fitotrack, because I havent clicked the add comment button yet. Hope you get the point.

Probably this comment function stops the app to save the workout from the lockscreen?

This feature probably makes only sense when adding a comment after every workout? I rarely add comments after a workout and if so, I could also manually add it by editing the workout. Im wondering if many people add a comment after every workout?

PS: If the comment button is removed workouts could be saved much faster and a click is saved everytime.

Kind regards
Julian

The run does not finish if I did not unlock the phone.

This was added to prevent accidental stops caused by touch bugs in the pocket.

Probably this comment function stops the app to save the workout from the lockscreen?

Oh yes, that's right. The solution would be:

  1. Save the workout when clicking on "Stop" without comment, THEN show comment dialog and update the workout with new comment.

his feature probably makes only sense when adding a comment after every workout?

  1. Make comment question optional? But what needs to be considered: every setting added, makes the app more complex :/

Im wondering if many people add a comment after every workout?

I write a comment for every tour right after I stop the workout so I wouldn't remove that dialog completely. But not sure either how many actually use this.

What do you think about 1. and 2.?

Oh right, thats a good point. Did not consider it, but it makes sense!

Yeah my first point was to remove the "add comment"-button completely and not making it optional in the settings. Thats right an optional question in the settings makes no sense and would only increase the complexity.

Save the workout when clicking on “Stop” without comment, THEN show comment dialog and update the workout with new comment.

Hmm, maybe it could help the problem that all app closes in the multitasking panel (because of sweaty and wet display surface{star}), at least the workout is saved then immediately when the screen unlocks. If there is not point against saving the run two times with the added comment, probably it might be useful to prevent data loss.

{star}Sometimes when I finish a workout and unlock the screen my phone goes back to the home menu. When I try to open fitotrack because of the wet surface the screen bugs and opens the multitasking panel and closes some apps (and fitotrack is most of the time the first in the column).
