WIP: Support interface creation at runtime #71

clktmr wants to merge 1 commits from clktmr/yambar:network-vpn-interfaces into master

Interfaces might be created at runtime, e.g. USB network adapters or VPN
connections. To support these we (a) don't close the module if the
interface can't be found at startup and (b) check the interface index
for every link event, as it might have changed after recreation.

Stumbled on this - I was hitting the same issue. The MR as-is seems to work for me well enough. Do you plan to finish it off (I guess adding changelog?)

There were still issues with this MR, but I can't recall the details. Since I've stopped using yambar for now, it's unlikely I will continue to work on this. I don't expect this to be getting merged.

OK, thanks for replying - so if you don't mind I'll do some testing of the MR and finish it off as needed. I'll open up a separate MR once that's ready.

That would be great, I really want to switch back to yambar once it's more mature. I can also help testing, once your MR is open.

Fair enough - in my short testing I have not hit an outright crash or other obvious issues with this so I'll need to play with things a bit.

If/when I open a changed MR I'll comment here so you can still participate
