R8 optimizations had to be disabled to resolve #166. It would be better if we could enable R8 again.

Seems like this is still disabled currently: https://codeberg.org/corona-contact-tracing-germany/cwa-android/src/branch/main/Corona-Warn-App/build.gradle#L102-L103

As long as our reproducible builds setup works currently, I wouldn't want to touch it though.
