[Feature / Discussion]: Better Follower / Following Management #9763

What feature would you like implemented?

Current there doesn't appear to be a way to look at a list of all the people you are following, or all the people that are following you. This is typically something that micro-blogging systems implement at some level.

The nicest I've seen so far is the implementation in Mastodon (see image).

Why should we add this feature?

It's useful for us to be able to see:

  • Who is following you
  • Who you are following
  • Who is active / inactive
  • Who are mutual (ie, who has followed you back after you follow them)
  • Who you have muted
  • Who you have blocked

Having a central location where you can view all of this information, and take action (like following some people that follow you, or un-following people that are inactive) is very useful for maintaining a health social environment.

Well you can view these lists if you go to your profile and click on the number of the accounts you follow/who follow you, so that's not completely accurate, but you're right, this could be done in a much better/informative/useful way.

I didn't consider viewing them that way... In fact, I rarely think about my profile unless I am editing it, which I do through the settings.

but you're right, this could be done in a much better/informative/useful way.

Thanks. I'm sure this is something that won't fit the timeline for the 1.3 project - but might be worth considering for 1.4.
