Feature:

Basically some sort of way to obfuscate notifications?
Some chat apps offer a way to minimize the information that pops up on your screen, like 'WhatsApp: New notification', while others like Telegram don't have that feature.

I would like an option in Gadgetbridge that does the same. I get a notification from app X? The notification is something along the lines of 'X: New message' or just 'New message'. This will give more privacy, as onlookers might spot who sent me a message or that I got a message from a certain app at all.

you can simply block notifications from certain apps via the Notification blacklist feature. You can also enable (temporary) Do not disturb mode to prevenet messages from arriving at all.

As for generic "only buzz and show no text", something like this exists for phone calls (Settings - Call privacy mode), not for messages. This would require quite a bit of design thinking...

I think I didn't phrase it properly - I want to get notifications or at least buzzes, I just want the option to anonymyze them in some way when the app itself doesn't offer that option.

I am, sadly, no a dev, and I realize that this idea might be too cumbersome to do and would understand nobody stepping up to do it :)
