Feature request and gathering feedback Making graph view and user experience better

Looking at other similar apps I think the current graph UI and UX might need a bit of polish.

This issue is to just keep track of the progress and for receiving ideas and feedback. If you have seen the absolute best User Interface or eXperience somewhere, for displaying sleep stats or workout data, please write it down below in the comments. Mockups are also very welcome.

This is a good effort. Just for those interested, there have been previous discussions, as per here. Any help would be great.

I have been looking more into this. Really would like to make use we use some open source design tool.

I tried:

  • Akira - linux native (actually linux only). Very, very early days.
  • Alva - electron based UI. First cursory look: looks quite good, but development has since been discontinued. It contains material UI library. I might try using it this one.

Edit: more interesting tools here: https://uxplanet.org/open-design-freeware-tools-for-designers-f7bdde99f2e0

OK, i have found and tested Pencil: https://github.com/evolus/pencil . It has library of components (not only Android) and is fairly straight forward to use. As for components, after playing with it, it actually seems much easier to copy/paste screenshot of the current page to be designed, as a background, then select/copy/paste required portions (icons...) and position them as needed.

So in reality, maybe inkscape, gimp or other regular, readily available graphics software could just be used too, because the provided components in the component library will never be exactly the same as we need...
