Hello, I could not get activities running that need location, e.g. biking. GB not even tries to get a location. Do I need some additional provider as for Weather services? Did not find this in documentation but also not that it is not supported by GB at the moment.

Thanks (for supporting Band 4 and maybe for supporting my issue)
Thomas

Wearable device is:

Mi Band 4
FW: 1.0.5.55

Android version is:

8.0.0

Gadgetbridge version is:

0.35.2

This is simply not implemented in Gadgetbridge yet and a unique and new feature of the Mi Band 4. The Android device gets GPS and pushes the data to the Band.

Don’t know what’s behind it. Maybe it’s more in the original app than just sending the GPS data and to much effort to implement. I thought it’s just a bug as GB has location permission. Seems than to be only for the connection or some other devices that have navigation.

Do you have a Mi Band 4 for tests? Or need one to push the feature request? ;-)

What do you have? I could not get one of the last Pebbles before Fitbit killed it. Then was not interested in it for a long time as I don’t want to send my data to some cloud. A few weeks ago when doing updates in F-Droid I saw some updated app at the top saying something about “without sending data” and added support for something called “Mi Band 4”. Then a day later a report about the Mi Band 4 in my computer magazine. So I bought one. Maybe I was to fast. But it was not that expensive so I can also sell it switch to another one now that I know your app. But I don’t want a watch that has to be charged every day.

@tomcat-xx
I do have the Mi Band 4. But as you see we have over 400 open issues and I cannot do everything at once.

No problem, I don’t wanted to push you. But did not find any other way for donation.

I’m glad that I can use it at all. Without your app it would not be possible.

But in this case, the app is completely useless for some workouts with the Mi Band 4. No workout will get saved.

What I am now doing is, run FitoTrack (also in F-Droid) and the Band activity simultaneously, it’s not the best, but at least I get to keep all the data (and if I want, I can merge them or whatever...) not ideal, but for the meantime should do.

Cheers.
