Hope the last issue is not getting attention. I want to switch from Other services like Google’s services to Codeberg completely.I request you to:

  1. Set up Premium account model for certain services so that funding will not be short.Premium account must extend certain limits of non-premium account.
  2. Nextcloud from Codeberg. (Limited capabilities for non-premium account).
  3. Secure Email service.(Good alternative to GMAIL)
  4. Pastebin services.
  5. Matrix Hosting.
  6. Alternative to Github Pages/Gitlab pages: I would like you to see https://github.com/neocities
  7. Encrypted temporary file upload service.
  8. VPN service(wireguard) for premium accounts.
  9. CI/CD service for Premium accounts.

These are my opinions and i feel that you must extend the services. Please don’t tell me that “You can host these on your own”. I want Codeberg to evolve :) …

Apart from that, some of those services would be overdoing it. Maybe even in the sense of “Cobbler, stick to your last” – but certainly in the sense of straining (human) resources. The team IMHO cannot do it all, so it’s better to restrict additional services to those close to what Codeberg already does (“do one thing, and do that well”).

A few things I’d say are going quite beyond that include Matrix hosting, VPN service, Email service, and probably also Nextcloud. I’d certainly agree with CI/CD, which have their own issue now. Github pages is already on the “official” wish list, which also mentions pastebin. Which leaves only the file upload service (the “binary pastebin”) – and why not using existing solutions for that instead of creating another one? Aren’t there any trustworthy ones, like FramaDrop, which could e.g. be linked from a menu to make them easy to find?

I’ve no idea, @hw – I rarely use pastebins. When looking for “service X”, I usually searx “framasoft X” and take what they offer. Framasoft is privacy oriented, and I trust them. No idea who’s behind qbin.io – but I’d keep my fingers (and especially my data) off that site. Ever looked at it with uMatrix? Qbin, Cloudflare, GoogleAPIs, Rawgit… Now look at FramaDrop: Framadrop.org, framasoft.org, done. So basically 1st-party-only.
