How this would work could be similar to Github/Gitlab pages with the "pages" repository as the front page for username.codeberg.page and having all the other pages be username.coderberg.page/pagename.

This feature could be toggled through the settings.

I know this could be done by having different folders in the "pages", but the repository name is not the most descriptive, and wanting to have multiple projects hosted it would be great to be able to have different repos for them.

Let me know if this has been discussed before or is there some problem about the implementation.

AFAIK the next pages version is supposed to serve repos under a path after the user/orgname.codeberg.page

You can follow the progress at momar/codeberg-pages and there is an overview of what's left to complete in momar/codeberg-pages#7.
