Please offer an option in the setting to change the default branch name globally
Currently it does only seem to be possible to change the default branch name when creating a new repository, which is quite annoying when creating many new repositories.
It would be great to have a global option for that just like GitHub does.
I find it quite sad, that a platform that claims to provide a "humane" platform and wants to support the freedom of software and their developers, is pushing their users to the usage of
main by forcing them to change that setting each time they create a new repository.
so you propose a user setting instead of a system wide ...?
Yes it would be great if the user could have a setting for his account.
I would also like to define the name of the default branch in the personal settings. That would be one reason less to create a project from a template just to have master branches on new projects and it would probably circumvent ticket #452 for me.
Deleting a branch is permanent. It CANNOT be undone. Continue?
